When You Give, You Get…

A number of years ago, when I first started on the Internet, I discovered a company that was giving away free desk-top publishing software and other graphic design software.

This was not trialware, or a limited version, but an actual fully functioning version of their products. All free.

I so impressed with their products and I bought the newer versions of the software.

The idea behind their promotion is, if you like the product for free, you would buy their latest product releases. This tactic worked well. I bought several titiles.

This company really practiced the Law of Reciprocity!

The company is still using the same marketing tactics, giving away free software in hopes you will buy their higher priced products.

This software is definitely worth a look. I am very interested in their web design software.

(No, I am not an affiliate or get any kickback from them. I wish I did…)

But there is a lesson here. The lesson is the law of reciprocity.

If you do good something for me, I will do something good for you. When you really think about this, it really makes sense.

I was so impressed with theie free stuff, I bought their paid stuff.
